The Judy Schubert and Suzanne Hanson Giving Society recognizes individual donors to Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central and Northern Arizona who have given a minimum of $5,000 in a single year. Society members are acknowledged on this website and in our annual report and are invited to attend an exclusive recognition event each year.The society is named for Judy Schubert and Suzanne Hanson, who in 1980 as members of Junior League of Phoenix conducted a feasibility study that found a need for a Ronald McDonald House in Phoenix. Subsequently, they formed a steering committee with pediatric medical specialists, hospital representatives, and other key authorities to make the House a reality. On May 15, 1985 Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix opened its doors with 16 guest rooms. Today the House has grown to include three facilities totaling 72 guest rooms. The legacy started by Judy and Suzanne can not be understated as today the House serves more than 1,200 families per year from across Arizona and the globe.
