Len Gutman Named Chief Development and Marketing Officer at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona

PHOENIX (April 23, 2024) – An accomplished Phoenix-area fundraiser and
communicator has been named Chief Development and Marketing Officer for Ronald
McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona (RMHC). Len Gutman, of
Phoenix, is now serving in this dual role for the nonprofit organization.

Gutman will oversee all fundraising, marketing, and community outreach efforts for the
Central and Northern Arizona chapter of RMHC, which provides accommodations for
more than 1,200 families each year whose children are receiving treatment at a local
hospital.

With more than two decades of experience in nonprofit communications, fundraising,
donor relations and organizational leadership, Gutman brings a wealth of experience to
his new role.

His appointment comes at an important time for the organization, as it is seeking to
expand its Roanoke House location, is in the process of refurbishing its Cambridge
House facility and is upgrading its Dobson House location. RMHC is committed to
meeting the growing demand for accommodations for families traveling to the Valley for
the world-class healthcare available to their children in the Phoenix-area.

“Len’s passion for catalyzing the growth of nonprofits shines through in everything he
does,” said Kerry Schulman, chief executive officer of Ronald McDonald House
Charities of Central and Northern Arizona. “We’re confident that he’ll be instrumental in
moving our mission forward so we can ensure there is room for every family to have a
home away from home while their child undergoes inpatient medical care.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona served 1,208
families with 20,400 nights of rest in 2023. Families needing accommodations came
from all 15 counties in Arizona and 35 different states as care for their children was
provided at local hospitals.

“This organization holds a soft spot in my heart, as I know it does for many Arizonans,”
said Gutman. “You can feel the care and concern for families with children in the
hospital as soon as you walk through the door of one of the local Ronald McDonald
House Charities houses. It’s an honor to serve an organization that provides so much
help for families during a difficult time in their lives.”

Gutman comes to RMHC from Jewish Family & Child Services, where he served as vice
president of philanthropic services. He has also served in development roles at the
Sojourner Center, Special Olympics of Arizona and the American Heart Association |
American Stroke Association.

Gutman is a Valley Leadership Class XXVII alum, former board chair of the Alliance of
Arizona Nonprofits, a faculty associate at Arizona State University and Chandler-Gilbert
Community College. He is the author of “Giving Time: Making a Difference in Your
Community.” Gutman earned a master’s degree in English from Northern Arizona
University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from San Jose State University.
