04 Oct Kerry’s Corner: Fall 2021 Newsletter
After the storms of the past year, we’re hopeful for sunnier days ahead.
I am so proud of our team and community for pulling together to put families first, no matter what. The dedication and hard work shown by all during the extraordinary circumstances we’ve been facing is inspiring. Together, we are making a difference and driving our mission forward.
And, while we don’t know exactly what the coming months will bring, we have much to look forward to. From the grand re-opening of Roanoke House, which received a top-to-bottom refresh during the pandemic, to the return of our Dinnertime Heroes program with vaccinated volunteers, we continue to do everything we can to maintain and expand our services for families in need.
COVID has demanded huge adjustments in how we serve families, and I’m truly thrilled to start to move back toward standard operations. We’re even hosting our Heart of the House Island Party — a unique twist on our traditional gala — with limited-capacity attendance and increased safety measures in October.
This past year, we were all reminded that we may get up in the morning, get dressed, and go about our business … but at any given moment, the whole world can change. Families with sick and injured children have all experienced that life-shifting moment — and when it happens, they need our support.
I continue to be grateful to this amazing community that allows Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Central and Northern Arizona to offer rest, a hot meal, and a “home-away-from-home” to families in need. We could not do this work without you. Thank you!
With gratitude,
Kerry Schulman
